24 Hours With Cindy Morris

We find out what it’s like to live and love the South Brisbane lifestyle, with Melbourne Residences tenant and owner of Smashing Berries, Cindy Morris.

Cindy Morris might just be the new poster child and beaming advocate for South Brisbane’s booming and ever-developing quality of life. Having owned Melbourne Street favourite, Smashing Berries, for just over a year now and recently downsizing from family life to inner city apartment living, Cindy and her husband are starting to feel like they’re on a permanent holiday.

Since moving in, she’s not wasted a minute in embracing wine and cheese by the rooftop pool, enjoying chats with the neighbours in the lift, and the 297-meter commute to work (yep – she’s got it down to the meter!). An incredibly refreshing change to the hourly drive she did daily while living in the ‘burbs.

Her day usually begins with an early walk up to Smashing Berries for a 6:30am open. She gyms in the evening, leaving plenty of time for a relaxing start to an otherwise flat out work day. Once Cindy’s at work she spends her time making the drool-inducing smoothies and super bowls we all love, chatting to regulars (and new friends), and being surrounded by a wonderful team that she absolutely raves about.

Once Cindy’s home (which takes all of three minutes), you can find her in the pool or at the gym for a little post-work wind down. After years of prepping weekly meals and the fortnightly shop, she’s enjoying changing her habits to shop only by necessity, decrease wastage, and making her way around some South Brisbane dinner favourites like Julius Pizzeria and Copperface Jacks.

A woman with such drive and an always-sunny disposition, make sure you pop into Smashing Berries and give her a wave. Keep an eye on the menu in the coming weeks too – we’ve been promised there’s plenty new to look forward to!
