PARKER Contemporary

PARKER Contemporary is a contemporary art gallery located at 38 Hope Street in Brisbane’s Fish Lane Arts Precinct, within close proximity to QAGOMA, the State Library of Queensland and QPAC. Its distinctive gallery centres on contemporary printmaking, papermaking and artists’ books.

Founded in 2024 by director Emily Parker, a graduate of the Queensland College of Art and Design at Griffith University and The University of Queensland, PARKER Contemporary foregrounds print and paper as material and conceptual sites of enquiry.

Visitors can discover work by emerging and established artists with a distinctive exhibition program, artist talks and events that invite audiences to encounter these materially rich practices up close, learn more about how the works are made and explore collecting contemporary art in a welcoming setting.

Since opening, PARKER Contemporary has presented more than twenty exhibitions and participated in national and international art fairs, including Sydney Contemporary and Aotearoa Art Fair. Founded on the belief that print is not a secondary practice but a vital way of thinking through the world, the gallery continues to expand how print and paper-based practices are understood, valued and collected within contemporary art.

Works by represented artists are held in significant collections including QAGOMA, the National Gallery of Victoria, Artbank, the State Library of Queensland, The British Library and Harvard University’s Widener Memorial Library. In 2026, PARKER Contemporary was featured in Art Collector magazine’s “50 Things Collectors Should Know.
