Last week saw power duo Aria Property Group and Brisbane City Council win the prestigious Minister’s Award for Urban Design and beat out 19 other worthy nominees in the process. Their achievement you ask?
Fish Lane of course!
Put in place by the State government to recognise contemporary projects that exemplify the highest quality designs that encourage business growth and city culture, The Minister’s Award is a big deal for our lane and we couldn’t be happier!
Described by the Queensland Government as ‘a demonstration of what is possible when once-forgotten city spaces are loved and valued’, Fish Lane was lauded for their Melbourne-inspired aesthetics, with specific mention to our abundance of vibrant street art and public installations. Furthermore, the careful and purposeful selection of restaurants, bars, and events within the precinct all contributed to Fish Lane winning the top prize!
The lane also received praise all around for challenging the status quo with our lively aesthetics and design excellence. Most of all, Aria Property Group and the city council’s leadership in transforming what was an unsafe and neglected service area into a vibrant experience is something that will continue contributing to the community and our city for years to come!
So congratulations team! What better way to help us celebrate than by dining in at one of our restaurants?
Winner winner Fish Lane dinner!
