On Wednesday 25 May, Fish Lane’s bars are stocked and ready to pour your favourite drop in celebration – and in case you were short of plans, here’s where you can head with your partner in wine (pardon the pun).
Little sibling to Julius Pizzeria, Bar Brutus is an intimate wine and spritz bar and the perfect spot for a post work knock-off or pre-dinner sip. Situated in the heart of Town Square, Brutus has a select range of fine Italian vinos that can be complemented with Italian-inspired snacks (think olives, cheeses and charcuterie).
Fish Lane’s newest resident, Butler Wine Bar is a warm, comforting, space ready to become your new local. Butler will be opening soon, ready to pour your favourite drop.
For over five years La Lune Wine Co has been a go-to for locals, a catch-up spot amongst friends or a regular date night for others. A modern Australian bar with a European flare, La Lune is known for its extensive wine list or wall of wine pouring anything from a buttery chardonnay to a crisp rosé. It wouldn’t be a visit to La Lune without a sip from a rare, aged or interesting wine from the coravin.
Climb the red stairs on Grey St to discover a heritage-listed European Oasis that knows a thing or two about pairing the dishes with a timeless wine selection. Maeve’s impressive list of wines are categorized under playful occasions such as ‘Celebratory’, ‘Interesting’ and ‘Unique’ and feature drops from around the world. The food doesn’t disappoint either:from their potato rosti with crème fraîche and chives or a Moreton Bay Bug with saffron butter, there’s definitely a dish to pair with your glass.
Tucked away at the Grey St end of Fish Lane, Maker is the perfect space for a romantic night with your significant other or a post-dinner tipple. With their carefully curated wine list, most reds, whites and rosé are served by half glass, glass or bottle, alongwith goodies from the charcuterie cabinet. This intimate bar has an eclectic style of drop that is sure to please the lot.
