Brewsvegas is coming to Fish Lane
The ever-growing Brewsvegas festival is back for its seventh year, promoting creativity and community within Brisbane’s bustling beer scene. Kicking off on March 14, the festival will stretch out across 10 days and bring in over 100 events at a range of Brisbane’s best venues, including two Fish Lane spots!
Saturday, March 14 will see New Zealand’s Garage Project join forces with Wandering Cooks in celebration of food and brews! Beers from Garage Project include a cereal milk stout, Jacoby Tiki pale ale, Shinrin Yoku blended cherry blossom sour with ume and sencha green tea, and Weird Flex – a grapefruit, cucumber and celery sour. Tickets are available here, and include four small plates and four brews.
It’s impossible to talk about Brisbane’s beer scene without mentioning Saccharomyces Beer Café. Big players at this year’s Brewsvegas, Saccharomyces is hosting five huge events as part of the “Pint of Origin” series, taking beer lovers on a journey of flavour and complexity through the realms of Scandinavia!
Journey to Jotunheim: Giants of Scandinavia is the first event of the series, on Saturday, March 14. Showcasing some rare kegs all the way from Jotunheim and beyond, you can expect to sip on brews from Norway’s Lervig Brewing, Denmark’s Mikkeller, and Sweden’s Omnipollo.
Sunday, March 15 will see Asgard’s Alefarm Feast – a three-course set menu with four matching beers – take over Saccharomyces. Centred around Denmark’s Alefarm Brewing, this will be the perfect event for food and beer lovers.
Take your pick from five unique taps of Sweden’s Amundsen on Tuesday, March 17 at Ales in Alfheim: Amundsen Ale Adventure, or swing by on Saturday, March 21 for Giants in Nidavellir: To Øl goes underground and enjoy hoppy Danish beers and kegged cocktails courtesy of Øl Brewery.
Saturday, March 21 will also see the Calibre Block Party take over with some exclusive brews from 3 Ravens, Otherside, Noisy Minor, Exit Brewing, Killer Sprocket, Mr Banks, Red Hill Brewery, Willie Smith’s Cider Makers and more.
