We’re painting the laneway red for Negroni Week
A Count walks into a bar and asks the barman to spice up his Americano with a little something-something and voila, Negroni was born. These days, the power of a Negroni knows no bounds and as the necessity for the scarlet-hued drink grows, so does the invention of new variations. It’s so popular in fact that it’s carved out a whole week for itself and this year, Fish Lane is the place to sip and celebrate.
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, Negroni Week is the global charity initiative (presented by Imbibe and Campari) that puts the power of fundraising in the hands of bars and restaurants around the world, with proceeds from the sales of the drink donated to their official charity partner, Slow Foods.
Tenants on the laneway including; Billykart, Bar Brutus, Chu the Phat, Hello Please, Julius Pizzeria, Kiki, La Lune, Maeve Wine Bar, Southside and Saccharomyces, have banded together to create over 40 different Negroni inspired cocktails, dishes and desserts to enjoy from September 12 to 18.
Expect to see Cherry Ripe Negronis with cherry liqueur (Bar Brutus), a Campari and mandarin marmalade breakfast martini (Billykart), ceviche of kingfish with Negroni gel and puffed rice (La Lune) as well as a Rosella Negroni with rosella vermouth, Bulldog gin, Campari (Maeve Wine Bar) and so much more.
With such a wealth of enticing bars and restaurants, Fish Lane is playing host to three other sensational events within the week-long festivities, designed for visitors to sip on endless varieties of the classic cocktail.
