Keep the RENT fever alive off the stage with these show-inspired specials…
Jonathan Larson’s electrifying, multi-Tony® Award-winning musical RENT has arrived at QPAC’s Playhouse Theatre, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! See the show and step into the vibrant streets of New York City’s East Village, where dreams are born, friendships are tested, and the power of love prevails against all odds. Featuring the iconic songs ‘Seasons of Love’, ‘Take Me or Leave Me’ and ‘La Vie Bohème’, this groundbreaking phenomenon is more than a musical; it’s a celebration of life, love, and the human spirit.
But the RENT fever is not just limited to the stage – both Maeve and Midtown have collaborated with the show, while it’s here in Brisbane, to serve up the perfect pre- and post-show sips and snacks with their own personal New York-inspired flair.
Much like the show, a trip down Fish Lane and into Midtown Bar Brisbane will make you feel as though you’ve stepped into downtown New York. And as is their specialty, the venue has curated a perfectly pink ‘Season of Love’ martini and mini lobster croissant pairing that will have you feeling all the feels before you even arrive at the theatre. Want something a little more substantial? Two glasses of pop prosecco and their famous sea-cuterie platter are available for you to indulge in while you have another flick through your program and reflect on the sensational show you will have just watched.
Just across the road from QPAC is Maeve, who for the duration of RENT’s run are changing up their usual European fare for a set menu of classic New York nibbles. A walk up the red stairs of Grey St will have you feeling like you’re climbing the stairs of a New York City apartment, but never fear, there’s only one flight and a spectacular restaurant and outlook waiting at the top. For $55 per person, enjoy your choice of their two themed martinis and some frites as an entree before delving into your choice between strozzapretti alla amatriciana or rigatoni alla norcina paired with a leafy lemon salad.
Whichever you choose, you won’t be disappointed. Or go with our recommendation and enjoy one pre-show and another post-show?
Don’t miss your chance to discover the show that took Broadway by storm. RENT must leave Brisbane on the 11th of February. No day but today! Book tickets here.
