Hallelujah! Your Ultimate Pre-Show Dining Guide for The Book of Mormon on Fish Lane

As The Book of Mormon returns to QPAC for an extended ten-week season, there’s only one thing left to plan before the curtain rises: where to eat. Luckily for you, you already know Fish Lane is just a short stroll from the theatre, making it the no-brainer choice to kick off your night with everything from quick banquets to long, leisurely dinners.

Whether you’re gathering the cast (your friends), planning date night, or simply looking for something far more memorable than a rushed pub meal, here’s where to dine before the show.

Chu The Phat

Say hello to bold flavours, generous portions and a banquet made for sharing.

Chu The Phat’s $54pp pre-show banquet features vegetable spring rolls, steamed duck buns, fried chicken ribs, coconut braised beef cheek, potato and peanut curry, steamed broccolini and steamed rice. There’s also a generous gluten-free banquet, so everyone can feast before curtain call.

To get into the spirit of the show, pair your banquet with Tomorrow is a Latter Day; a limited-edition Book of Mormon cocktail with elderflower, Aperol, peach schnapps, lychee syrup and lime… or a glass of Moët. Both are $18 with the pre-theatre banquet or when you show your Book of Mormon ticket.

El Planta

Plant-based never looked so fun.

El Planta’s $45pp Pre-theatre Feed Me menu is packed with the venue’s favourite dishes, chosen by the team on the day. Every experience is a little different, making it the perfect option for adventurous diners looking for a quick bite that packs a punch. Check them out here.

Maeve Wine Bar

If your ideal pre-show ritual involves exceptional wine and beautifully crafted seasonal dishes, Maeve is calling your name. Everything is prepared to order, so allow the full two-hour dining experience before making your way across to QPAC. It’s the perfect excuse to slow down and savour every course. Book through their website here.

Marlowe

Looking to elevate your theatre night? Marlowe’s $90pp Pre-Theatre Menu is a refined dining experience designed to be enjoyed in around an hour.

Begin with a selection of tuna carpaccio, curried crab brioche and whipped chicken pâté with gingerbread waffle & orange gel before choosing from market fish, saffron risotto or stuffed chicken breast for your main. Finish on a sweet note with cherry sorbet & rosella pavlova before heading off to the show. Check out their booking availability here.

Midtown Bar

Hate feeling rushed before curtain call? Us too. Midtown is the place for you.

Swing by from 4pm–6pm, Wednesday to Saturday, for The Perfect Pair: a match made in happy hour heaven. For just $29, enjoy Midtown’s signature toasted lobster croissant alongside your choice of a Dirty Martini, Lychee Martini or the rotating Martini of the Month. Get stuck into this offering right here.

Southside

If you’re short on time but still want maximum flavour, Southside’s one-hour pre-show menu has you covered.

For $55pp, enjoy a vibrant selection including yellowtail kingfish sashimi, potato & truffle spring rolls, chicken & shiitake siu mai, pork wontons, Wagyu beef fried rice and smacked cucumber salad, all designed to have you in and out within the hour without compromise.

To make your theatre experience even more memorable, start your evening in Southside’s lush Garden Bar, where pre- and post-show diners receive a complimentary Tiki Punch or signature mocktail before taking their seat. Have a scroll through their dining experiences here.
