A Dram good time, Whisky Whisky returns to Fish Lane
If your idea of a whisky festival still involves sticky carpet, fluorescent lighting and a whole lot of swirling and nodding, it’s time for a rethink. Returning to Fish Lane on Saturday, July 11, and back in time for its fifth birthday to bring the drams, good vibes and block-party excellence… it’s Whisky Whisky!
Set beneath the laneway lights of Fish Lane, Whisky Whisky has become one of Brisbane’s most-loved winter events for a reason. This year’s golden-hued celebration will feature more than 30 sought-after brands pouring over 100 Australian and international whiskies across two 2.5-hour sessions. Expect returning favourites like Cape Byron, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Heartwood and Highwayman, alongside newcomers including Sullivans Cove and Outback Distilling.
And because no one wants to sip on an empty stomach, tickets also include lunch from restaurant partner Hello Please, a souvenir take-home glass and a coveted ‘dream dram token’, which is your golden ticket to one rare, special or top-shelf pour. Though fair warning: narrowing it down to just one might be the hardest decision you make all day.
Between tastings, put your whisky where your mouth is and try your luck at the legendary Whisky Whisky claw machine, packed with whisky-themed prizes. Expect plenty of unrestrained banter from distillery reps along the way, plus the chance to stock up on your favourite pours through retail partner Savile Row Cellars.
To mark the five-year milestone, Whisky Whisky is also introducing a limited VIP upgrade for first-session guests. For an extra $59, VIP ticket holders get 45 minutes of early access to the full dream dram range before the crowds roll in (arguably the smoothest way to do Whisky Whisky).
