Five must-try Fish Lane dishes

With so many delicious options on Fish Lane, it can be hard to know where to start your dining journey! While every venue along the lane has a standout dish, we’ve selected some favourites to add to your South Brisbane must-try list.

Billykart West End – Aussie Asian Eggs
The second venue by celebrity chef Ben O’Donoghue, Billykart’s menu is an all-Aussie delight with Asian, Mexican, and classic French influences. Everyone will tell you to try the corn fritters, but the Aussie Asian eggs with prawns, bacon, fried noodle cake, crispy eggs, and fresh chilli is the real standout brekkie!

Five Sisters – Tapas platter
Fish Lane’s own Greek taverna will transport you to yia yia’s kitchen table! Maximise your visit and get the tapas platter to try Five Sisters’ take on Greek classics – pita bread with tzatziki, chicken and lamb souvlakia, grilled halloumi, dolmathes and baby octopus!

Big Roddy’s – The Royal Sampler with sweet potato fries
When the hankering for low-and-slow meat hits, get to Big Roddy’s for The Royal Sampler! Devour a half rack of back pork ribs and a beef short rib – just don’t forget the coleslaw and sweet potato fries on the side.

Gauge – Black garlic bread
Is it sweet? Is it savoury? Gauge’s black garlic bread with burnt vanilla and brown butter helped put this unique establishment on the map. All we know is it’s delicious (and best enjoyed after a seven-course degustation!).

Chu The Phat –  Tea-smoked duck legs
This luxe pan-Asian fave serves up an overwhelming bunch of delicious dishes, but the one that’ll have you going back is the tea-smoked duck legs with grilled pineapple, candied garlic and ginger! Pair it with a Kung Fu Panda cocktail and you’ll be ready to fight over the last duck leg!
