BrisAsia’s Laneway Tea Festival is coming to Fish Lane in February

For the first time in its ten-year history, the BrisAsia Festival is celebrating all things tea with the Laneway Tea Festival, hosted on Fish Lane!

The free event, running from 11 am to 8 pm on Saturday, February 12 will see Brisbane’s favourite vendors of everything from artisanal blends to vibrant bubble teas come together, with activities, entertainment and shopping opportunities rounding out the day-long tea party.

Expect bubble tea by Botanical Lab and Teaology Lab, artisanal teas, iced teas and chai by Bei Bei Tea, Tour de Tea, The Steepery and East Forged, and Asian desserts by Motto Mochi Lab and Indietreats (including vegan options!). Fish Lane’s own Southside and Hello Please will also be serving up their pan-Asian street food snacks.

Running throughout the day, activities will include 30-minute global tea explorations with Tour de Tea, tea mixology and mocktail-making classes with 2019 World Tea Brewers Cup champion Danny Andrade hosted by East Forged, brewing masterclasses with The Steepery Tea Co, and origami workshops with Maki Arts.

Think you can tackle two litres of bubble tea? Take on Botanical Lab’s bubble tea competition, racing to finish two litres of milk tea with pearls (or tag-team with a mate if you need a little help) for the honour of being crowned the Boba King or Queen of Laneway Tea Festival!

DJs will soundtrack the festival, with live performances from R&B singer-songwriter Pachinko at 6 pm and R&B/hip-hop group BBTK at 7 pm.

With a vast array of tea preparations available for purchase and tasting, snacks by Fish Lane favourites and plenty to engage all of your senses, BrisAsia Laneway Tea Festival on February 12 is the perfect celebration of Brisbane’s diverse Asian communities through the world of tea.
