Where to dine during the Brisbane Festival
It’s that time of the year where our river city bursts with colour, light and entertainment: Brisbane Festival is back, and it’s bringing a month of world-class theatre, music and live performances. Now that it’s finally here, prepare for the festivities with a feed from Fish Lane.
Before heading to QPAC for a performance of HOME, make yourself right at home at Julius. Nestled in the entrance to Fish Lane, you won’t have to go far after you’ve filled yourself with duck ragu, truffle paste pizza and slow roasted pork belly.
A whole sesh of live tunes can get us parched, so make sure to hydrate with a trip to hole in the wall Maker. Whether you’re feeling like a classic mojito or something custom made, it’s important to prep your throat before belting out your favourite songs.
Hit up Punjabi Palace before getting lost in the House of Mirrors. Nothing says comfort food more than a hot curry with naan, and you’ll need as much sustenance as possible in the unlikely case that you’re trapped forever.
We’ll be kicking it Ol’ School with a few fish ‘n’ chips, potato scallops and cocktails before heading down to David Beddiel’s comedy set at the Tivoli.
Roll yourself into Billykart for a few servings of chargrilled pumpkin salad, potato gnocchi or spiced lamb shoulder before watching the cast of YUMMY exude a level of energy that you could only dream of.
If you’re heading to the Brisbane Festival, make Fish Lane your first stop.
