Here’s whats happening on the laneway for the remainder of May…

Block out your calendars!

May 16 onwards | Moulin Rouge Celebrations

Whether you’re going to the long-awaited Moulin Rouge! The Musical at QPAC or not, you can experience the wonder with the help of some Fish Lane eateries.

If you want some liquid gold to prep for a night of dancing, Southside Restaurant’s can-can chilli and xiao long bao will certainly do the job. Its eclectic mix of citrus, pineapple, rose water and vermouth will have you hiking up your skirt in no time. If gin’s more your vibe, Kiki Kiosk is offering a red heart negroni with Four Pillars shiraz gin, hibiscus and Lillet Rouge, and Chu The Phat has created the enticing Rouge 75 with gin, elderflower, grenadine, lemon and moscato. If that still isn’t tickling your fancy, you can opt for a Fete De La Lune dinner at La Lune, pairing steak tartare with their chardonnay or pinot; the epitome of sophistication.

24 May | Southamerica

Southside Restaurant is partnering with Half Moon Wines to create a guided taste sensation journeying through an eclectic mix of South American wines. The exciting event hosted by Dennis Roman, aka ‘El Mostacho’, offers an abundance of flavour with four courses, dessert and six paired wines at $149pp. This one-off event will fill up quickly, so visit Southside Restaurant’s website to guarantee yourself a night of indulgence and a damn good sleep afterwards.

25 May | BAD Dinner

As a part of this year’s BAD Festival, Southside Restaurant is partnering with the gorgeous ceramic studio Mas & Miek to provide a ceramic workshop followed by a two-course banquet amidst the lush canopies of Fish Lane. You’ll even score a handmade ceramic plate to take home, but get in quick as there’s limited seats available! Grab yours here.

27 May | BAD Fashion Show

BAD’s annual Fashion Runway show is back and is once again aiming to showcase the fusion of art and fashion to greater Brisbane! Presented in partnership with ARIA and produced by Fashion Queensland’s Laura Churchill, witness the wearable artworks defining the cultural fabric of our city.

The full lineup of artists is yet to be announced, but we can guarantee you’ll see some incredible (and maybe familiar) pieces on the catwalk this year. All you need to do is register for a seat here.
